Steven Holl

This competition winning design for THE NELSON-ATKINS MUSEUM OF ART in Kansas, has the audience moving though the landscape and openings  that go through the existing museum, giving them new experiences all the time. They change as they move from one level to another, going in and outside.

The pockets of space I am designing in my Museum of Illusions will have a similar feel I hope, giving the audience an experience that is changing all the time as they walk through.

Daniel Rozen, "Weave Mirror"

The "Weave Mirror" has the unique ability to involve the viewer. It is an intriguing installation as it changes its image as the viewer moves around. I want to produce illusions that can be seen in many points of view whether the viewer is standing still, or moving around.

The elevation picture of "Light Studio"will help me to design the interior of my performance space, as I want to design pockets of space where the audience will stand and experience my museum of illusions.

IX Mirrors, Ron Gilad

Because of my interest in mirrors and how much they can create a narrative I have been looking at Pistoletto and Ron Gilad. Ron Gilad uses multi media to create a more 3D space.

Michelangelo Pistoletto

Pistoletto's mirror paintings were hugely successful in the 1960's and continue to be exhibited frequently today. He was hugely interested in self-portraiture, but when he began the Mirror Paintings he included the viewer in the painting too. This has been another great find for my research in to the performance project "Forgotten Space".
